Today I caught my dad using a monocle from a cord around his neck. When I asked about it, he said he'd had it specially made for his eyes (He asked his eye doctor if he could make him one to his prescription --who said no one ever had asked for a monocle. If people knew they could, I bet a lot more would. That'd be hell for moms, though I bet. Every six-year-old who needs glasses would want a monocle instead.). He can hold it on his face at his eye with no hands --old-fashionedlike. Here he's holding my mom's beautifully colored plate from the buffet. She's an artist, but maybe that's obvious.

After we left the restaurant my dad wanted to find some temporary tattoos. Just because. So we went to a store that sells them in a gumball machine. But it was broken.

So then we went to the Asian Mega Grocery Store that just opened by my house. The place was packed. The background music was Feelings and Let it Be and an ABBA song I couldn't place, all played on Chinese instruments. . .
